System abuse is strictly prohibited. Citynets may terminate service immediately, hold you financially liable for any damages, and if applicable, bring legal action against you under the statues of felony vandalism, if you engage in system abuse. All accounts are single user accounts unless stated differently!
The Following is a list of actions that are defined as system abuse. This list is non-exclusive; any action about which there is any doubt should be referred to Citynets for evaluation. Actions which constitute system abuse include, but are not limited to:
Attempting to circumvent user authentication or security of any host, network, or account on Citynets systems or the Internet at large ("cracking" or "hacking")
Attempting, in any way, to interfere with or deny service to any user or any host on the Internet.
Forging e-mail or USENET posting header information.
Trading, distributing or storage of licensed software. ("warez")
Sending large numbers of unsolicited mail messages (i.e. "junk mail" or "spamming")
Forwarding or posting "chain letters" (multiple forwarding) of any type.
Posting inappropriate messages to USENET newsgroups e.g., posting large numbers of unsolicited posts indiscriminately ("spamming"), or posting encoded binary files to USENET newsgroups not specifically named for that purpose.
DO NOT use automated unattended news posting and retrieval programs with our service. Improper use of these automated unattended posting and retrieval news programs can result in termination of your account or interruption of service without notice. We will be disabling accounts of any customers that abuse the system with these (or other) commercial, automated unattended news posting and retrieval program.
Attempting to cancel, supersede, or otherwise interfere with e-mail or USENET posts other than one's own.
Engaging in harassment, whether through language, frequency, or size of messages.
Using an account at another provider to promote a Citynets Web site in an abusive manner.
You may not transfer or share your Account with anyone, and you may not disclose your password to any third parties.
Using a Citynets account to collect replies to messages sent from another provider which violate these rules or those of that provider.
Using ANY program, such as "Ponger" in order to keep your connection alive by sending packages every (X) minutes while actually being idle.

It is also understood that when a customer connects to Citynets through our phone numbers, the customer has verified with their local phone company that this number is in fact local. Citynets is not responsible for long distance charges the customer incurs as a part of connecting to Citynets.
We may terminate your Account (and delete all information related to your Account) immediately if you do not pay for your service within our billing terms, or if you breach this agreement. In either case, no refund will be paid. We may also terminate your Account if we decide, in our sole discretion, to discontinue offering accounts, in which event we will pay a pro-rate refund. There may be an additional charge to reissue lost passwords.
Citynets Usenet accounts are offered as a bonus to your dialup account and are intended for individual use and NOT for commercial level archiving of gigabytes of data. Your individual account is for personal, non commercial use -- NOT for archiving, newsfeeding, news sucking, or testing experimental software. If you would like a commercial newsfeed, please contact our sales staff at sales@citynets.com.
You understand that we are providing you with unfiltered access to Internet. We cannot, nor do we try to, control the content that you will receive. By its very nature, the Internet may carry offensive, harmful or inaccurate material, in some cases in postings that have been mislabeled or are otherwise deceptive. We expect that you will use caution--and common sense--when using the Internet. Furthermore, you shall comply with all applicable laws regarding your access to your Account. Citynets will not issue credits or suspend billing for periods of non-use such as, but not limited to, vacations, computer problems, or temporary residency. Citynets will make It's best effort to make its network available at all times. Since certain factors are beyond our control, Citynets makes no guarantee of accessibility to its networks, especially during peak usage.
Citynets liability for any customer claim will not exceed one month of service or $20.00, whichever is less. Any credits will be issued as additional service and not as cash. Using the account is deemed as acceptance and comprehension of the policies listed above. If you use your account, you agree to pay for it, even if through our negligence, or the mail system, you do not receive an invoice for a billing period.
